Pleased to meet you. I'm Jeremy: a software engineer, former computer science teacher, lifelong student, and habitual starter of side projects.

Jeremy's Place is the personal half of my online home. It gives me somewhere to write through what I am learning, document projects while they are still messy, and keep a record of the hobbies I am trying not to let adulthood crowd out.

Making things ​

I started programming at eleven by making small games, and game development still has a special pull for me. These days my experiments range from web and mobile apps to Godot projects, tabletop tools, and whatever else gives me a useful excuse to learn something new.

Before working full-time as a developer, I taught computer science at both the university and secondary-school levels. I still care deeply about explaining ideas clearly, documenting decisions, and helping other people find their way into technical work.

Away from the keyboard ​

I live in Texas with my wife and our cats. I enjoy video games, tabletop games, and stories in most of their forms. My faith shapes how I think about love, community, human rights, and peace.
